warranty: Polar Electro, Inc. warrants to the original
consumer/purchaser of this heart rate monitor that product will
be free from defects in material or workmanship for one year
from the date of purchase (see below for additional information
before you return an item)
- The Polar Transmitter is
covered by a two-year maintenance - free warranty including
battery.
Before you return your Polar Heart Rate
Monitor to the Polar Service Center, please check the following:
-
Have you read the user's manual?
-
Is the transmitter belt being worn
correctly? The Polar logo should be right side up and the belt
should be flat against your skin.
-
Are the electrodes on the transmitter
moist?
-
Is the transmitter clean? Regular
washing with mild soap and water and thoroughly drying
afterwards will ensure that good conductivity continues.
-
Is the receiver within a 3 feet range
of the transmitter?
-
Are the heart rate readings very high
and abnormal? Check that your Polar Heart Rate Monitor is not
near sources of electromagnetic signals, such as televisions,
computers, mobile phones, cars, TV antennas, high voltage power
lines and some exercise equipment that is motor driven.
-
Check that there are no other
transmitters within 3 feet if you have a non-coded transmitter.
-
Has the battery in the receiver been
changed by an unauthorized party, causing damage to the unit?
-
Have the receiver buttons been pressed
under water, causing leakage in the receiver?
-
Static electricity in clothing can
cause electrical interference, so some items of clothing i.e.
man-made fibers could be the cause. If the display is frozen on
the receiver, carry out global reset, if the model in question
has that feature (consult the manual for global reset
instructions).
-
It has been known that the chemicals in
some swimming pools and sea water may effect the ECG signal pick
up.
- The ECG
signal strength varies depending on the individual's tissue
composition and the percentage of people who have problems in
heart rate measuring is remarkably higher in water environment
than in normal use.
