All products are primarily used for upper body strengthening, but there are many possibilities to create new exercises. The important thing in holding this or any other piece of equipment is that the hand and forearm are maintained in neutral alignment. A straight line between the hand and the forearm should be maintained without flexing or hyperextending at the wrist.
The equipment can be held in different ways:
Grip with two hands in between the "weights" (overhand or underhand grip)
Each hand on the "weights"
Each hand on the external knobs
Place below the neck (provides floatation for relaxation)
Who can use it? Anyone who would like to increase their general fitness level by increasing the intensity of the exercise program. These pieces of equipment primarily work against the force of buoyancy. However, they can also be moved through he water creating resistance from the drag forces based on the position of the equipment and the frontal surface area. This makes them ideal to increase the intensity of the exercise program
Who should not use them? People beginning an aquatic fitness program should only use this equipment if they have the trunk stability to control the equipment rather than the equipment controlling them
